How do UGREEN's AI and storage ranges differ?

UGREEN sells two lines under the NASync name. The iDX models are built for AI: Intel Core Ultra processors with Arc graphics and an NPU, soldered LPDDR5X memory, two 10GbE ports, an internal PCIe Gen4 x8 slot, and UGOS Pro features that only run on iDX, including the Uliya local assistant, semantic search and Intelligent Learning.

The DXP models are storage-first. The DXP8800 Plus, DXP6800 Pro and DXP480T Plus share a ten-core Core i5 and accept up to 64GB of DDR5, which is enough to run Ollama and Open WebUI in Docker, as UGREEN's own guides show. They do not get the iDX assistant, and their GPU options are limited.

iDX6011 or iDX6011 Pro?

Both share the chassis, six bays, dual 10GbE and the PCIe x8 slot. The Pro adds a faster Core Ultra 7 255H, an OCuLink port and a front display, and only comes with 64GB. Where do UGREEN's AI NAS systems fall short?

Soldered memory on the iDX range means no upgrades: 64GB is the ceiling. Rivals such as the Minisforum N5 Pro accept 96GB. UGREEN's software is younger than Synology's DSM or QNAP's QTS, though updates have been frequent.
